• Voluntary or Compulsory Self-Denial

His choosing our cross 2

VOLUNTARY ‘SELF-DENIAL’ in following our Lord aspires to the appeal of exhibiting oneself in a setting of our choosing where people will marvel at us, whereas compulsory self-denial required, in pursuing our Lord, is the prerogative of His choosing our cross and settings where death to self truly takes place so that only His resurrection-life and glory are impressed on others.

  1. This is my journey. Sandy

    • and it is a journey where you will hear, “Good and faithful servant…” – a priceless gem in comparison to hearing the praise of men.

God richly bless you, Sandy – lovely to hear from you again :-)

      • Been too long, but that was part of my journey too — being unplugged enough to hear and HEED God’s voice. I’ll be around lots more often. Sandy

      • God has to unplug us sometimes (we won’t do it) and oftentimes (taking from your words) we may hear but not always heed God’s voice. “…and HEED…” – very true, Sandy, so very true.

Looking forward to hearing what new things you have to share.

        Every Blessing

  2. This is a very good one from M.A.Williams.
    Thank you.

It reminds me of a way to understand the differences between Pharisee/hypocracy and true discipleship.

    Blessings

    • And there is a very fine line (almost indiscernible) between Pharisaical hypocrisy and sound discipleship. The apostle Paul’s resting in his weaknesses was not so attractive to the egotistic, but in that lowliness, he had the Creator’s power resting on Him and flowing through Him.

      Every Blessing.
