Light in Our Darkness: Audio Devotional

This devotional expresses how God’s consolations come to us in our distresses. Oftentimes, when God speaks to us, our circumstances are not necessarily changed immediately. However, what we focus on in the duration makes all the difference; will we focus on our surroundings, or on our God, who is with us in the midst of our actualities?

A comforting voice in the storms of life …

  2. Thank you so much Mark. I must admit to not reading longer posts at times and this is just perfect. Your comforting voice brings much comfort from our Comforter. I pray these audio devotionals will bless many.

Now there’s a voice for audio! Is that you?! Nice devotional. I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I don’t have the right voice. I could be a drill instructor…but that kind of voice isn’t exactly comforting.

    • Yes, it is me – the old British dialect. My wife has been suggesting, asking and asking that I do such a thing like this; took me some time to come around to it. Thank you for your encouragement.

We don’t hear ourselves as others do; pursue that thought you’ve had in recording your writings… you never know.

Well I guess if God commanded me, I would do it, but I cannot stand the sound of my voice personally. It’s been one of those things I have struggled with and in consequence, I tend to be a lousy speaker. I can write up a storm, but if I had to speak at all…well the Holy Spirit would definitely have to take over.

      • The power is not in the voice or in eloquence, the same with writing. Would to God that such an attitude (as yours) be prevalent in so many preachers today – Spirit led.
