Mark Anthony Williams

Hello, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m originally from Lewisham, London (no Cockney accent, but I do impressions!) and have lived in several locations to include England and Wales in Great Britain; East Coast of the United States; and I’ve travelled about Europe, here and there. I’m very passionate about my walk with God, my family, and my career in the Health and Social Care sector.
It’s been about 15 years since I began writing devotionals, and in 2011 I created Shade of the Moriah Tree after being encouraged to publish them. The art of writing is something I relish, a field where I’ve learned a great deal and continue to grow through this avenue of communication. Much of these truths expressed are realised through personal experience of tremendous affliction over the years. Rather than keep to myself God’s consolations and strengthenings, I’m compelled to share with other people how true and faithful God is.
Some of the many things I enjoy in my downtime are writing, photography, competing in mountain hiking challenges, the occasional whiskey (single malt, if you please!), and my library. I’m a voracious reader of theology; and when time permits, I paint fine art land and seascapes; and even dabble in voiceovers and narration in a professional capacity. One of the most enjoyable aspects of my work has been the privilege of collaborating with gifted authors, lyricists, musicians and poets. Did I mention I love to read? My adorable wife insists, in her warm, witty ‘Southern Sass’ way, that I spill the beans: “You better tell’em you sniff the books, honey – or else, I will.”
I do hope you’ll find encouragement at Shade of the Moriah Tree and return again often.
Every blessing to you and yours,
Mark
