♣ The New Day Will Come

“Behold, I am making all things new” – Revelation 21:5

“They kept going… because they were holding on to something… that there’s some Good in this world… and it’s worth fighting for!”  – Samwise Gamgee

THIS SCENE FROM ‘The Lord of the Rings’ touches the hearts of many and as much as we can relate to the message of hope amidst all of the heartache and injustice in this world, there is yet a greater Reality that speaks of the incomparable glory that in turn breathes an undying and eternal hope deep in our souls.

Despite all the world’s evil, the only true Good that shines is the light of Christ. We are pilgrims, earnestly contending for the faith, fighting the good fight of faith, looking to the Author and Perfecter of our faith — the Lord Jesus Christ, in Whom we stand firm in the power of His might and Who will make ALL things perfect, bringing eternal healing to the nations.

The New Day is coming…

“For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality…therefore, my beloved brothers [and sisters], be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labour is not in vain” – 1 Corinthians 15:53, 58

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.

“…be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might…for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places…having done all, to stand firm [in the strength of His might]” – Ephesians 6:10, 12, 13.

“…He Who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” – Philippians 1:6.

“When Christ Who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory” – Colossians 3:4.

“…since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ…” –  1 Thessalonians 5:8-9.

“Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called…” –  1 Timothy 6:12.

“…the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life…let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” – Galatians 6:8-9

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He Who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” – Hebrews 10: 23-24.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Founder and Perfecter of our faith, Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of God” – Hebrews 12:1-2.

“For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the City that is to come” – Hebrews 13:14.

“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” – 1 Peter 1:13.

“And we have something more sure, the prophetic Word, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the Day dawns and the Morning Star rises in your hearts…” – 2 Peter 1:19

“…because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining” – 1 John 1:8.

“…what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like, because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure” – 1 John 3:2-3.

“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” – 1 John 5:4-5.

“…contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints” – Jude 3.

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Behold, I AM making all things new” – Revelation 21:1-5.

“Surely I am coming soon…” – Revelation 22:20.

“Lift up your heads because your redemption is drawing near.”
