♣ Fully Convinced

Through the wilderness

“No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised” – Romans 4:20-21.

GOD DOES NOT want us to merely make it through our trials; His purpose is that we are not only to be convinced, but fully convinced that God is able to do what He has promised to do.

This carries the same connotation as in Romans 8:37 “…in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us”; we are not mere overcomers; we are more than that; we exceed that, not because of who we are but Who God is and Who has called and chosen us to be heirs of Him.

This implies a daring in the midst of all opposition, an absolute and unshakeable confidence in the God – the one and only God – who is infinitely more than able to bring to pass all He has spoken. Out of nothing God created the heavens and earth and out of our impossibilities shall God transform our circumstances and heart-wrenching dilemmas into something wonderful and too glorious for words.

God wants us so fully persuaded that in all and everything that would threaten great harm to us, He is more than able to deliver or give us grace to endure and be gloriously victorious through it. Either way, as He sees fit, will advance the knowledge of His name in this world and release God’s blessing in our lives.

We may sometimes find ourselves longer in our trials than desired, but that is not to punish us; God so wants to liberate us from all fear and anxiety through the experiential knowledge that He is our Father Who perfectly cares for us in ways we can never fathom. God does not want us believing better than we did before; He wants us filled to overflowing with the knowledge of Himself, that there is absolutely nothing whatsoever too difficult for Him. We may have sung it a hundred times, now God wants us to know it.

Yes, with holy audacity, God wants us to stare and even laugh in the face of trouble, not as being our foe but rather as friend that is there to ultimately bring about nothing but the incomparable best as God determines.

This glorifies God in the very thick of hoping against hope and when after considering all is dead, that God – and only God – will bring to fruition everything, to the last detail, all He has said because He is GOD.
